Role:

Nearly all of Backbone CFO’s growth comes through referral partners — business advisors such as EOS Implementers, Vistage Chairs, and C12 Chairs, along with bankers, CPAs, sureties, and insurance brokers who trust us with their clients. This seat exists to own that referral partner network, grow it, and build your own portion of it from the ground up — and to make it produce every week.

You will not be inventing a growth engine — you will be running one that already works. The engine is simple: a steady weekly rhythm of partner meetings produces referrals, and referrals become long-term clients. You will be trained on the same approach that built the network, with expectations calibrated for a realistic ramp.

This is not a desk job. It is not a marketing role. It is not lead generation from behind a screen. You are in the field every week, building relationships that compound over time, and you operate accordingly.

Responsibilities:

  • Own and grow the referral partner network across the Delaware Valley — build new partner relationships from zero and run a disciplined, tracked cadence with existing partners
  • Represent Backbone CFO in networking associations, networking events, and small-room speaking settings
  • Contribute to planning the founder’s speaking engagements and brand-building efforts
  • Own the front of the sales process, including follow-up on every prospect the network produces
  • Maintain a weekly scorecard of partner meetings, referrals generated, and pipeline movement within our EOS operating rhythm
  • Represent Backbone CFO with credibility and professionalism in all partner and external interactions

Requirements:

  • 3–8 years of relevant experience in partner-driven or referral-driven business development
  • Can name the referral relationships you built from zero — how each began, the cadence that kept it producing, and what it generated
  • A sustained weekly rhythm of partner meetings you can describe as a system: touch frequency, touch content, and how you tracked it
  • Fluent in your own conversion math — referrals in, deals out, revenue attributed
  • A self-starter by nature who initiates without being told
  • Would rather have uncapped upside on a proven model than a bigger base
  • Wants a team and a system, not an island — works inside a proven playbook with direct coaching from the person who built the network
  • Must be able to reliably travel to Backbone CFO’s headquarters multiple times per week.

Results:

  • The weekly partner-meeting cadence is hit and logged consistently, with no gaps in the tracked rhythm
  • The referral partner network grows month over month — new relationships built from zero, existing ones deepened
  • Every prospect the network produces gets timely, professional follow-up — nothing falls through
  • Partners trust Backbone CFO with their best relationships because the follow-through has earned it
  • Referral-to-client conversion improves over time as the system and the person running it both sharpen

Schedule:

Daily in-field work across the Delaware Valley — coffee shops, job trailers, and association lunches. The weekly rhythm of partner meetings is the core deliverable of this seat and is not flexible; consistency of cadence is what the role is measured on.

Travel is a routine and constant part of this role, not an occasional exception.

Location:

Based out of Backbone CFO’s headquarters in Mullica Hill, NJ, with daily in-field work across the Delaware Valley.

Compensation:

Backbone CFO offers a $65,000 base salary plus uncapped commission, supported by a non-recoverable monthly draw while you ramp. Realistic year-one earnings are $105,000–$125,000; year two at steady state, $140,000–$150,000. The ceiling is your pace — at the top of this seat’s model, it earns roughly $195,000 a year, a pace only our founder has sustained, and we will teach you how he did it.

This description is only inclusive of base and variable compensation, not benefits (more details below).

Benefits:

We offer a comprehensive, evolving benefits package designed to support your health, family, and wellbeing. Some key offerings:

  • Flexible Unlimited Paid Time Off and company-wide holidays
  • Employer-sponsored Medical, Dental, and Vision plans
  • 401(k) with employer match, eligible for Traditional and Roth accounts

* Benefits eligibility applies to full-time roles only*
